The farm

L’Erta di Quintole produces organic extra virgin olive oil. The olive trees span an area of 10 hectares at about 250 meters above sea level. The olive grove follows a specialized planting pattern (4.9m spacing). Approximately 90% of the trees were planted in 1988 after the frost of 1985. A few centuries-old olive trees that survived the extraordinary cold are still present around the agriturismo and continue to bear fruit.

The olive varieties include Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino, Moraiolo, Maurino, and Picholine. The trees are pruned annually, following the polyconic vase shape. The soil is covered with natural grass, and fertilization is carried out in accordance with organic farming protocols. On average, about 4,000 kg of oil are produced annually.

Our organic extra virgin olive oil

The organic extra virgin olive oil from L’Erta di Quintole has a green olive fruit aroma with herbal notes. On the palate, it is fruity with hints of artichoke, slightly spicy, and pleasantly bitter.
